Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Bring your skills and passion for supporting students' well-being as a dedicated school social worker working with elementary-aged children. A full-time contract position is available for a licensed professional ready to make a difference, starting as soon as possible and continuing through October 2, 2026. Contribute to a positive school environment by delivering vital social-emotional support, primarily serving a manageable caseload of approximately 25 students, while also collaborating with special education classrooms for push-in services.
Qualifications:
Valid Illinois School Social Work (SSW) license. Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement required. Demonstrated prior experience in a school setting. Commitment to onsite, in-person services (remote/virtual options are not available). Strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to provide documentation such as resume and licenses for credentialing purposes.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct counseling and support to elementary students, individually and in small groups. Develop and implement interventions that support social, emotional, and behavioral growth. Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure students' needs are met. Offer push-in classroom services, particularly in special education settings. Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings as needed. Engage in proactive outreach to enhance the well-being of all students on your caseload.
