Make a real difference in the lives of elementary students in the Glendale Heights area by supporting their social and emotional development as an onsite School Social Worker. This full-time contract opportunity involves serving two elementary schools for the academic year, providing the chance to truly connect with students, families, and educational teams. As a key member of the school community, you'll deliver essential social work services—empowering students to thrive in and out of the classroom. Your expertise will help address barriers to learning, foster positive behaviors, and offer valuable support to both staff and families.
Successful candidates will have:
An active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement Background in school-based social work, collaborating with diverse student populations Strong communication and problem-solving skills to advocate for students' needs Experience with individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and family engagement Ability to conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and participate in IEP/504 meetings Key responsibilities: Serve two elementary schools, supporting students across a variety of settings Deliver direct and indirect social work services, including counseling, behavior intervention, and family outreach Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student well-being Provide crisis management and resources to students and families Maintain thorough, confidential documentation and comply with state and federal guidelines This role offers a meaningful chance to grow professionally while making a positive impact in education.
