EVENING/WEEKEND SHIFT
School Year Hours:
Monday-Wednesday 2:30 PM
- 11:00pm & WEEKEND 6:30 AM
- 3:00 PM
Summer Hours:
Monday-Friday 6:30 AM-3:00 PM (Occasional weekend hours in the summer)
Training Period:
Monday-Friday 2:30pm
- 11:00pm for 1-2 Months of Training, then transition to hours above.
Work Year:
2026-2027
Effective Date of Employment:
As soon as possible
- this is a year-round position
Salary:
According to the Custodial Salary Scale
FY27
Starting Salary:
$50,158.00, plus nightly differential, and an increase after 6 consecutive months of service
Job Responsibilities:
The Building Custodian is generally responsible for the achievement of the purposes of custodian services in the building, i.e., preserve property values, protect health and safety of occupants; support the educational objectives of the building and provide a climate of learning, develop goodwill and maintain cleanliness and neatness
- Grounds upkeep, snow removal
- Perform all other general duties as indicated by the Principal, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, the Custodial Supervisor or his/her designee, and policies of the Marlborough School Committee
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferrred but not required
- Physical and mental capabilities to perform above work
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Ability to understand spoken and written English.
