Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a School Social Worker for a maternity leave coverage starting January and possibly continuing through June. This role involves working closely with educators, students, and families to provide essential social-emotional support and advocacy, empowering students to thrive academically and personally. The position is based near Bellevue, MI, offering up to 40 hours per week, with a preference for onsite engagement but some flexibility for virtual options as needed. What we're seeking: Valid School Social Worker certification (full cert required) Experience in school-based social work, including counseling, intervention planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Demonstrated ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds and address their social and emotional needs Familiarity with IEPs, behavioral intervention strategies, and state/educational compliance Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to start in January and commit through April, with potential extension through June Must verify credentials via the Michigan Department of Education's public credential search
