Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Juvenile Court Social Worker to join our community-based team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive social services to youth involved in the juvenile justice system, ensuring their needs are met through effective case management, advocacy, and collaboration with legal and community partners. Your proactive approach will help guide young individuals toward positive outcomes, promote rehabilitation, and support their successful reintegration into the community. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth while working within a dynamic legal and social services environment. The ability to work well as a team is vital for this position. Responsibilities Conduct thorough interviews with juvenile clients to assess their needs, risks, and strengths using motivational interviewing techniques. Manage individual case plans by coordinating services such as counseling, education, and community resources tailored to each youth's circumstances. Collaborate closely with law enforcement officers, probation officers, school personnel, and social service agencies to develop comprehensive support strategies. Prepare detailed reports documenting client progress, court appearances, and case activities in accordance with procedural law and juvenile justice system requirements. Become trained and conduct state required assessments. Apply crisis management skills to de-escalate conflicts or emergencies involving youth or their families effectively. Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office tools and case management software to ensure compliance with legal standards and agency policies. Support youth through ongoing client communication, interviewing clients for updates or concerns, and providing social work guidance aligned with criminal law experience. Facilitate and lead individual and group programming. Assist in building court programming. Skills Ability and willingness to gain knowledge of juvenile justice system processes, criminal procedure, and procedural law. Proficiency in social work principles combined with experience in case management within community supervision settings. Excellent interviewing skills with the ability to build rapport and motivate positive change in youth. Skilled in crisis management techniques to address urgent situations involving youth or families effectively. Competent in report writing, report preparation, and documentation using Microsoft Office applications. Effective client communication skills that foster trust and promote engagement with social services programs.
