Graduate of accredited college or university. Certification and/or appropriate license for school social worker. Good communication skills, oral and written. Experience in a school setting preferred. Experience working with adults in a leadership capacity preferred. Strong computer skills. Proficient in data entry and record keeping. Must meet all other certification/NCLB highly qualified requirements as set by the State of Michigan/NCA and/or the Mt. Morris Board of Education.

Building Administrator Job Goal:
To help at-risk students overcome problems that impede learning and to assist them in making educational, occupational and life plans that hold hope and promise for their personal fulfillment as they grow and mature into responsible adults.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide counseling to most at-risk students and parents not receiving support through Special Education. Make recommendations for assessments. Assist at risk students with future plans (EDP). Participate in conferences with student/school staff/community agencies. Make referrals for appropriate services. Serve as a liaison between school, home, teacher, students, public health agencies and social service agencies. Consult and problem solve educational issues for at-risk students. Assist in classroom assessment testing as needed. Work with at-risk students that are socially and educationally excluded or who experience crisis. Maintain accurate records and journal of contacts with most at-risk students to document support. Makes home visits as needed. Observes children in the classroom setting and make recommendations to instruction staff. Serve as a collaborative member on the building Response to Intervention (RTI) team to support students needing additional social work services in order to succeed academically. Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by building administrator.
Terms of Employment:
Work year and salary as determined by the Board of Education.
