Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract This unique contract opportunity invites a dedicated school social worker to positively impact young learners while supporting two educational settings on a leave replacement assignment. The primary need arises from a direct social worker's upcoming maternity leave, spanning late November through February, and possibly an earlier medical leave.
The role is split:
0.6 FTE is focused at an Early Childhood Center, working closely with GSRP participants and students needing additional supports, while 0.4 FTE centers on delivering services at an elementary school. This allows for a rewarding blend of early childhood and elementary engagement.
Key Qualifications:
Valid, current licensure as a School Social Worker Experience supporting diverse populations in educational settings Ability to provide direct services and interventions aligned with IEP goals Strong skills in collaboration, consultation, and multi-disciplinary teamwork Understanding of the needs of preschool and elementary-aged children, especially those requiring 1755 supports Adaptability to fluid schedules and varying caseloads Excellent documentation, communication, and rapport-building abilities
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct support to students through assessments, counseling, and intervention planning Consult, plan, and collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, maintaining thorough documentation Promote the emotional well-being and social development of young learners Assist in transition support and resources for students and families Maintain flexibility to support another potential medical leave within the district, should it arise Step into an assignment where your skills as a social worker will truly make a difference—providing essential continuity for students during a pivotal time.
