WHAT WE NEED
We're looking for a compassionate, relationship-driven professional to help elementary students develop the social-emotional skills they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. This position partners with teachers to provide classroom lessons, small group instruction and individualized support while promoting a positive, inclusive school culture. This role will also assist with grant-supported programming and documentation to enhance services for at-risk learners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Student Support Build trusting relationships with students who would benefit from additional encouragement and support. Provide short-term one-on-one check-ins to help students develop coping, communication, and self-regulation skills. Assist with behavior intervention plans Support successful transitions throughout the school day for students and social-emotional or behavioral needs. Facilitate small groups focused on social skills development. Provide direct SEL instruction across grade levels. Collaboration Support and partner with classroom teachers to reinforce social-emotional learning Collaborate with the school social worker, special education staff, and administration to implement student support plans. Communicate with families regarding student growth and strategies, as appropriate Participate in MTSS and student support meetings. School Culture Foster a welcoming school environment where every student feels safe, valued and connected. Support schoolwide initiatives that promote kindness, inclusion, positive behavior, and belonging. Assist with restorative conversations and conflict resolution when appropriate.
WHAT YOU NEED
Bachelor's degree required (social work, education, social sciences, or related field preferred). Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school, childcare, youth organization, or related setting. Demonstrated ability to build rapport with students with individual learning plans and students from diverse backgrounds. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. A passion for supporting student success and ensuring all students feel welcome and valued.
