Job Description

Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary The Extended Care Aide supports the daily operations of Christ Prince of Peace's Extended Care Program by providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment for students before and/or after school hours. This position is responsible for supervising students, facilitating age-appropriate activities, supporting homework completion, and promoting positive social interactions while upholding the mission and values of Christ, Prince of Peace. Job Responsibilities Supervise students enrolled in the Extended Care Program and ensure their safety and well-being at all times. Maintain a positive, welcoming, and structured environment that supports student development. Assist with planning and implementing recreational, educational, and enrichment activities. Support students with homework and study time as appropriate. Monitor and guide student behavior in accordance with school policies and expectations. Assist with student arrival, attendance documentation, and dismissal procedures. Ensure accurate sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed. Communicate professionally with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student needs and program matters. Prepare, distribute, and clean up snacks and activity materials as assigned. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of program spaces. Respond appropriately to student injuries, behavioral concerns, emergencies, and other incidents. Participate in required meetings, training, and professional development opportunities. Maintain confidentiality of student, family, and school information. Support and uphold the mission, values, and teachings of Christ, Prince of Peace and the Catholic Church. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with children in an educational, recreational, or care setting. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Patience, reliability, and strong communication skills.
