Position Summary As a Student Support Specialist/After School Coordinator, you'll work with students at your assigned school who have been identified as at risk of dropping out. You'll build relationships, provide case-managed services, and lead after school academic and enrichment programming designed to help them thrive. Key Responsibilities Build relationships with students and staff Collaborate with leadership and staff at the school Provide case management and individualized support to at-risk students Lead small groups in academics, social-emotional learning, and enrichment Coordinate engaging after school clubs and enrichment programs Collaborate with school staff, parents, and CIS team members Maintain accurate records: attendance, student progress, lesson plans, volunteer involvement Promote program outcomes: improved attendance, reduced discipline referrals, increased reading/STEM proficiency Support broader school needs (e.g., hallway monitoring, car drop-off, lunch duty) Qualifications Leadership and creative problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines Tech savvy for daily data entry Passion for supporting students, families, and communities Team player who thrives in collaboration with teachers and administrators
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma required
Experience:
3+ years teaching, coaching, or volunteering with K-12 students A Successful Candidate Will Model integrity, respect, and accountability Engage students in meaningful discussions and activities Manage student behavior fairly and consistently Encourage students to set goals and develop their passions Bring creative ideas for new clubs or enrichment programs Stand Out Upload a cover letter on Indeed telling us how your education (formal or informal) and experience (professional, volunteer, or life) make you an excellent fit for this role.
