Job Description

LOCATION
Pender, NE Some travel during work hours to our other centers is required.
JOB TYPE
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
ABOUT US
Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership (NENCAP), INC is a private, nonprofit corporation. NENCAP serves an income-eligible population in a 14-county area of Northeast Nebraska with programs such as Head Start, Early Head Start, WIC/Immunizations, Healthy Families, Weatherization, and Family Services, free tax preparation, car seat programs, Veteran Services, Commodity Supplemental Food Program, and food pantries.
JOB SUMMARY
Family Services Specialist
  • Responsible to develop and oversee the family services component of the Early Childhood Program.
  • This includes developing and overseeing an outreach program for the Early Childhood Program in advocating and representing the organization and its community purpose.
  • Verify income, code, and enter data into Child Plus.
  • Monitor acceptance, timely replacement of children and report classroom enrollment status to centers and support staff.
  • Update, maintain and present ERSEA information for recruiting within the program.
  • Notify parent and center staff of child acceptance, waitlist, and maintain a filing system for all applications.
  • Train Family Service Workers as assigned.
  • Work with Family Service Workers to assist clients in reaching their goals.
  • Work with Head Start Staff in developing ideas and projects to serve families according to program requirements.
  • Prepare reports including but not limited to demographics, outcomes, and successes and submit end of month reporting to the Office of Head Start.
  • Maintain confidentiality of program participants and follow Program and Agency standards and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in a field, or related to: Sociology, Psychology, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Criminal Justice, Family Sciences, Human Services or Social Work.
WAGE & BENEFITS
The starting wage with an AA is $21.00 per hour & with a BA is $24.00, plus benefits. Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance.
