Exempt Summary of Position:
The Family Preservation Specialist is responsible for providing intensive, in-home crisis intervention, counseling, and skill-building for families with children at imminent risk of placement or in placement and in need of intensive services to support reunification using the New Jersey Family Preservation Services (FPS) Program Model. The NJ FPS model is designed to keep children safe, strengthen families, prevent out-of-home placement, and safely reunify children and their family. Family Preservation Specialists carry a caseload of no more than two (2) families at any given time, except during the last week prior to discharging one family, when staff may carry a third (3) case.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or counseling. or Bachelor's degree with at least 1.5 years of experience providing services to families in crisis Experience working at-risk youth and families Understanding of the NJ Family Preservation Services Program Model is a plus. Be available for crisis needs Strong Communication Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Experience using database and/or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Position requires reliable transportation, driver's license, and current auto insurance. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
