Description:
DUTIES ( include but not limited to the following ): Administer Ohio-approved reading diagnostic assessments and other literacy assessments as required by state law and Board policy. Analyze assessment data to identify student literacy needs and recommend appropriate interventions. Develop, implement, monitor, and revise Reading Improvement and Monitoring Plans (RIMPs) in accordance with Ohio law. Provide individual and small-group evidence-based literacy intervention, including high-dosage tutoring when required. Deliver structured literacy instruction, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, based upon individual student needs. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate literacy assessment, intervention, and progress-monitoring records. Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families regarding student literacy needs and progress. Travel between assigned school locations as needed to provide services.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
( include but not limited to the following ): Hold a valid Ohio teaching license appropriate for the position as issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Demonstrated knowledge of the Science of Reading, structured literacy, evidence-based reading instruction, and Ohio literacy requirements. Knowledge of Ohio-approved reading diagnostic assessments, Reading Improvement and Monitoring Plans (RIMPs), progress monitoring, and literacy intervention practices. Reading Endorsement, Reading Specialist License, or demonstrated experience in literacy assessment and intervention preferred. Hold a valid driver's license for the state of residence and maintain the ability to travel between assigned work locations. Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and applicable abuse registry clearances.
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience
HOURS:
35 hour week, (Normally 8:30am - 3:30pm, M-F during school year) This position involves working with children and/or young adults who have developmental disabilities.
