Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Supervised Visitation Monitor to ensure safe, supportive, and positive visitation experiences for children and their families. Duties Supervise visits between children and non-custodial parents or guardians in designated settings, ensuring adherence to court-mandated visitation plans. Observe and document interactions during visits, noting any concerns related to child safety, emotional well-being, or compliance with visitation guidelines. Implement conflict management strategies to de-escalate tense situations, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor at all times. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive communication and cooperation among family members. Respond effectively to crises or behavioral challenges during visits through crisis intervention skills, ensuring the safety of all participants. Maintain detailed records of each visit, including observations, incidents, and any deviations from visitation protocols. Communicate regularly with case managers, social workers, and legal professionals regarding visit progress, concerns, or incidents while respecting confidentiality standards. Experience Prior experience working with children in social services, child welfare, or family law settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices for working with families facing complex challenges. Experience in conflict management, crisis intervention, and mandated reporting laws to ensure child safety at all times. Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse populations; fluency in additional languages enhances communication with families from various cultural backgrounds. Familiarity with social work case management processes, child protective services protocols, and family law regulations is advantageous. Proven ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, colleagues, and external agencies while maintaining professionalism under pressure. Knowledge of cultural competency principles to provide respectful support tailored to each family's unique background.
