Fort Montessori is seeking enthusiastic After School Program Counselors to help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment for elementary-aged children after school. This is an excellent opportunity for future teachers, education majors, childcare professionals, or anyone who enjoys making a positive impact in children's lives. Who We're Looking For The ideal After School Program Counselor is friendly, warm, energetic, dependable, and enjoys working with children. You will supervise a small group of 5-10 children (ages 6-10) , helping with homework, leading arts and crafts, organizing games, and encouraging positive social interactions. We're looking for someone who can confidently lead activities, communicate effectively with children and parents, and help create an environment where every child feels safe, supported, and excited to come each day. Responsibilities Supervise and engage a group of 5-10 children independently Check children in using our attendance app Welcome and greet parents during pick-up Lead arts, crafts, games, and other recreational activities Provide homework assistance when needed Remain actively engaged with children throughout your shift Maintain a safe, positive, and nurturing environment at all times Become familiar with each child's name, attendance, emergency information, and daily schedule Assist with snack time and classroom clean-up Perform light cleaning duties, including vacuuming as needed Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older At least 1 year of experience working with groups of children Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must successfully pass all required background checks CPR and First Aid Certification is a plus (training may be provided) Reliable transportation to and from work Ability to stand, walk, and actively participate throughout the shift Dependable, punctual, and committed to providing excellent care Pay & Benefits $13-$15 per hour , based on experience Flexible scheduling Employee discounts Opportunities to work additional hours on weekends, school holidays, and summer camps Friendly, family-oriented work environment Work Schedule Monday-Friday 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM Why You'll Love Working Here Spend your afternoons making a difference in children's lives Gain valuable leadership and classroom management experience Perfect for college students and aspiring teachers Supportive and welcoming team environment Opportunities for additional hours during school breaks and summer camps Every day is different, fun, and rewarding About Fort Montessori Fort Montessori has proudly served families in Murphy, Texas , for over 16 years .
