Family Support Specialist / Social Worker We are looking for a qualified, dependable, and compassionate Family Support Specialist / Social Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide professional case management and supportive services to individuals and families involved with Child Protective Services (CPS) and/or Youth Services (YS). Education and Licensure Requirements We welcome applicants who possess a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or a related four-year degree, licensure in Social Work or Counseling are preferred, but not required. Acceptable related degrees may include Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, Interpersonal Communication, Human Services, Primary or Secondary Education, Criminal Justice, Board of Regents with an emphasis in Human Services, Gerontology, or Family and Consumer Sciences. Compensation and Schedule This position is paid weekly. The pay scale ranges from $23.00 to $30.00 per hour and is based on experience, as well as written and oral communication skills. Schedule
Schedule varies based on client needs and may include daytime, evening, weekday, and weekend availability. Key Responsibilities
Support individuals and families by providing professional case management services related to CPS and/or YS involvement.
Provide safety services, Individualized Parenting education, and Adult Skill Building instruction based on each family's needs.
Facilitate supervised visitation while helping maintain a safe and respectful environment for children and parents.
Participate in court hearings and Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings as needed.
Collaborate with the treatment team to support case planning, service coordination, and effective communication.
Provide transportation assistance to clients when necessary and appropriate. Additional Requirements
Resides in the surrounding counties.
Prior experience providing direct services to families is preferred.
Enjoys working with children and families and approaches each situation with compassion, patience, professionalism, and a nonjudgmental attitude.
Must have a clear CIB and CPS/APS record, with no felony charges or CPS/APS/Youth Services substantiation history.
Comfortable traveling and providing services in clients' homes.
Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation required.
Professional, dependable, organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently while demonstrating strong time management skills.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Able to complete service documentation in a professional and timely manner.
Works well with treatment team members and coworkers and follows supervisory direction and the established chain of command.
