They act as a bridge between the school, families, and community resources, ensuring students' well-being and academic success.

Role Overview Position:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (School Social Worker)

Setting:

K-12 schools (public or private)

Purpose:

Support students' mental health, social-emotional development, and family engagement to improve academic outcomes. Key Responsibilities Counseling & Support Provide individual and group counseling for students facing issues like anxiety, depression, grief, peer conflict, or trauma. Facilitate social-emotional skill-building workshops for students and staff. depression, grief, peer conflict, or trauma. Assessment & Intervention Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify student needs. Develop and implement intervention plans addressing attendance, behavior, family stress, or trauma history. Participate in IEP/504 meetings to provide input on special education eligibility and accommodations. Crisis Management Deliver crisis intervention for urgent mental health or safety concerns. Coordinate with child protective services for mandated reporting of abuse or neglect. Collaboration Work closely with teachers, administrators, counselors, and psychologists to create comprehensive support plans. Act as a liaison between school and families , ensuring cohesive communication. Connect families with community resources (housing, healthcare, financial assistance).

Qualifications Education:

Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.

Licensure:

LCSW (state-specific requirements apply).

Experience:

Prior work in educational or child-focused settings preferred.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of child/adolescent development. Crisis intervention expertise. Excellent communication and advocacy skills.

Pay:

$50.00 - $55.00 per hour
