POSITION SUMMARY
The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, Trauma Services Division, is seeking two Clinical Counselors to provide direct individual and group clinical counseling, assessment, and case management services to survivors of partner abuse and domestic violence offenders. This is a full-time, temporary position with potential to renew, located in Rockville, MD, and eligible for telework at $42.00/hr.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Provide direct individual and group clinical counseling to survivors of partner abuse and domestic violence offenders
  • Obtain client-specific information including background, physical and psychological trauma, mental health/substance abuse history, and other needs and concerns
  • Conduct clinical evaluations and make initial and follow-on clinical assessments or program eligibility determinations
  • Make referrals, and prepare and treatment plans, tracking client progress
  • Prepare and maintain case files and reports
  • Enroll, link, or refer clients to available community resources, programs, services, and benefits
  • Collaborate with criminal justice providers
  • Attend case consultation meetings with internal and external providers to discuss client service plans and outcomes
  • Conduct assessments with Spanish-speaking clients [

  • Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Experience providing direct clinical counseling to survivors of partner abuse and/or domestic violence offenders
  • Strong clinical assessment, evaluation, and treatment planning skills
  • Case management experience, including documentation, reporting, and progress tracking
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with criminal justice partners and external service providers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
Bilingual (Spanish) [CONFIRM if required rather than preferred]
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Master's degree in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, nursing, or a related behavioral science field required
  • Active Maryland license required prior to appointment and maintained throughout employment: LCPC, LCMFT, LCADC, LCSWC, or Licensed Psychologist (no substitutions)
  • Minimum two years of professional experience rendering [RFS text cuts off - need remainder of this requirement]
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Working hours standard business hours
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds
