The University of Cincinnati seeks a Clinical Counselor/Social Worker to join University Health Services within the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neuroscience. In this student-centered role, you will provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and referrals for a diverse campus population. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare and academic teams. Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling to students and other eligible members of the university community for a wide range of mental health and behavioral concerns Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, formulate diagnostic impressions, and develop collaborative, evidence-based treatment plans Deliver crisis intervention, including risk assessment, safety planning, and coordination of higher levels of care when necessary Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and other clinicians within University Health Services and the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Neuroscience to ensure integrated care Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic health record system Offer consultation to faculty, staff, and campus partners regarding student mental health concerns, referrals, and best practices for supporting student wellbeing Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and quality-improvement or outcome-measure initiatives Develop and deliver outreach and psychoeducational programming on topics such as stress management, resilience, mental health awareness, and suicide prevention Support and advance culturally responsive, inclusive clinical practice aligned with the university's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion Engage in ongoing professional development and, as appropriate, contribute to supervision or mentorship of trainees and collaboration with research or program-evaluation efforts Required Skills Clinical assessment and diagnosis using DSM-5 or subsequent diagnostic frameworks Individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-informed care) Crisis assessment, safety planning, and intervention for acute mental health needs Care coordination and collaboration with psychiatrists, primary care, and other healthcare professionals Clinical documentation and use of electronic health record (EHR) systems Risk assessment and management for suicidality and homicidality Culturally responsive counseling and working effectively with diverse populations Psychoeducational workshop and outreach program development and delivery Interdisciplinary teamwork and professional communication in a healthcare and academic environment Time management, caseload management, and adherence to compliance and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
