$59.00 - $65.00 per hour, depending on experience About Sped Consulting Sped Consulting is a California-certified Nonpublic Agency providing special education and related services to school districts throughout the region. Our clinicians and specialists are placed directly at school sites, where they work alongside district teams to help students access their education and make meaningful progress on their IEP goals. Position Summary Sped Consulting is seeking a full-time Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to be placed at Antioch Unified School District for the current school year. The LMFT will provide Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) and school-based counseling to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), supporting their social-emotional functioning so they can fully participate in and benefit from their educational program. This is an on-site position at an assigned school site (or sites) within the district. The therapist will function as an integrated member of the school's special education and student support team. Key Responsibilities Direct Services Provide individual and small-group counseling to students in accordance with IEP-designated ERMHS service minutes Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with each student's IEP goals and educational needs Deliver evidence-based interventions appropriate to the school setting (e.g., CBT, solution-focused therapy, trauma-informed practices, social-emotional skill building) Provide crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning in coordination with site administration and district protocols Assessment and IEP Participation Conduct social-emotional and mental health assessments as assigned, including record review, clinical interviews, rating scales, and observations Write clear, legally defensible assessment reports and present findings at IEP meetings Draft measurable annual counseling goals, collect progress monitoring data, and complete progress reports at required reporting periods Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, including initials, annuals, triennials, and amendments Collaboration and Consultation Consult with teachers, school psychologists, administrators, and other related service providers regarding student needs and behavior support strategies Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding student progress, and provide parent consultation as appropriate Participate in SST, 504, MTSS, and other student support team meetings as requested Coordinate with and make referrals to county mental health and outside community agencies when services beyond the educational scope are needed Documentation and Compliance Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation, service logs, and session notes in accordance with district and agency requirements Complete documentation required for Medi-Cal/LEA billing if applicable to the assignment Comply with all applicable federal and state regulations, including IDEA, California Education Code, FERPA, HIPAA, and BBS scope of practice and ethical standards Fulfill all mandated reporter obligations Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution Active, unrestricted California LMFT license in good standing with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) Experience providing therapy to children and adolescents Ability to pass DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance and provide current TB clearance Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce professional clinical reports Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a public school or school-based mental health setting Familiarity with ERMHS, the IEP process, and special education documentation Experience conducting social-emotional or mental health assessments for educational eligibility purposes Bilingual Spanish/English Training in trauma-informed care, de-escalation, or crisis response Schedule Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, following the Antioch Unified School District academic calendar.
