HAART is a harm reduction-based, nonprofit clinic providing treatment to opioid dependent adults in Alameda County since 1979. We provide medication-assisted treatment including buprenorphine and methadone maintenance treatment, long-term detoxification, overdose prevention and professional counseling services. Works seamlessly with colleagues and remains eager to integrate new perspectives and insights from both peers and clients. Primary Duties of this
Position Include:
Providing counseling and case management services for a caseload of approximately 40-50 clients. Providing harm reduction-informed counseling for substance abuse, misuse and dependency. Providing crisis intervention, grief counseling and well-informed general therapeutic techniques. Conducting clinical assessments (including ASAM), using validated tools (including C-SSRS and Audit), and exercising clinical judgment, providing treatment, and making the appropriate referrals. Providing clinical training for life skills, emotional intelligence and parenting. Providing HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, vocational and nutritional counseling. Independently maintaining timely compliance with the documentation requirements of County, State, Federal, and Municipal licensing and accreditation agencies, including medical services. Participating in Quality Assurance Reviews (QAR), clinical supervision, performance improvement activities, accreditation activities, and applicable continuing education courses. Reviewing, documenting, interpreting, and appropriately responding to urinalysis data. Sharing the coverage of and oversite of the front desk, intake, and other roles as needed. Monitoring financial and/or insurance status of clients. Serving as an advocate or a liaison between HAART and local government agencies, treatment programs, mental health agencies, social service agencies, and the criminal justice system to facilitate a continuum of care for HAART clients. Attending staff meetings and participating in HAART's collaborative administrative and clinical treatment process. Maintaining established performance goals.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm. After a period of approximately 6 months, your schedule may be changed to 4 9-hour week days, to be determined upon review.
Requirements:
CCAPP certification or equivalent (CADTP, CAADE) as a
Substance Abuse Counselor:
$55,000-$70,000/annual. We will give consideration to a registered CCAPP or equivalent (CADTP, CAADE) journey level Substance Use Counselor with strong experience and professionalism.
BBS Associate-Licensed level:
$70,000-$85,000/annual. Computer proficiency skills, which include the ability to quickly learn and use a comprehensive database system as well as other software programs and implement tracking systems for items due. Experience in working with a high-risk and widely diverse population. 3-5 years SUD and/or mental health counseling experience.
Physical Requirements:
