Full Job Description Pay:

From $30.00 per hour Job type: Part-time Work location: Fully remote Job Overview Clay Counseling is seeking a compassionate, culturally responsive Associate Therapist to join our community-based behavioral health team in a fully remote telehealth role. This position is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about providing accessible virtual behavioral health services to individuals and families from diverse cultural, racial, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The successful candidate will demonstrate cultural humility, respect for each client's lived experience, and the ability to adapt virtual treatment approaches to meet individual client needs. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those who can provide therapy in Spanish or another language commonly spoken within the communities we serve. Candidates must reside in California, maintain an active registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, and be available to provide virtual services on Saturdays and during weekday evening hours, Monday through Friday. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution Active registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an AMFT, ACSW, or APCC Must reside in California and be authorized to provide telehealth services to clients located in California Eligible to receive clinical supervision in accordance with California BBS requirements Access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection Access to a private, professional, and confidential workspace appropriate for providing telehealth services Ability to maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, agency, ethical, and legal requirements while working remotely Demonstrated commitment to serving culturally diverse, historically underserved, and marginalized communities Understanding of how culture, identity, language, family systems, and community experiences can influence mental health and treatment Ability to provide affirming, respectful, and culturally responsive services Strong interpersonal, organizational, documentation, communication, and technology skills Availability to work Saturdays and weekday evenings Preferred Qualifications Bilingual or multilingual, with the ability to provide clinical services in Spanish or another community language Experience providing behavioral health services through telehealth platforms Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, or families from diverse backgrounds Experience providing trauma-informed and culturally responsive behavioral health services Familiarity with community-based mental health programs and underserved populations Comfort using electronic health record systems, video-conferencing platforms, and other virtual communication tools Responsibilities Conduct individual, family, couples, or group therapy through secure telehealth platforms using evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approaches Verify each client's identity, location, privacy, and emergency contact information as required for telehealth services Incorporate each client's cultural background, values, language, identity, and lived experience into treatment planning and service delivery Provide virtual services that are respectful, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of diverse individuals and families Maintain a professional, private, and confidential remote workspace during all client sessions and work-related meetings Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, payer, ethical, and legal standards Collaborate remotely with clinical supervisors and interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive and coordinated care Participate in virtual case consultations, clinical supervision, professional development activities, staff meetings, and required training Communicate effectively with clients, families, community partners, supervisors, and team members Follow Clay Counseling's telehealth, confidentiality, attendance, documentation, and remote-work policies Support virtual outreach, psychoeducation, community engagement, and the development of culturally and linguistically relevant wellness materials as needed Remote-Work Requirements Maintain dependable internet and telephone access during scheduled working hours Maintain a distraction-free workspace that protects client privacy and confidentiality Be available and responsive during scheduled appointments, supervision sessions, meetings, and assigned working hours Use agency-approved systems, platforms, and equipment when conducting clinical or administrative work Immediately report technology, privacy, or security concerns that may affect client services Understand that this position is fully remote and does not provide authorization to work outside California unless specifically approved by Clay Counseling and permitted by applicable licensing and legal requirements Benefits Fully remote position Flexible schedule Paid time off Professional development assistance Clinical supervision provided in accordance with California BBS requirements Clay Counseling values a diverse workforce and is committed to creating an inclusive environment where team members and clients feel respected, understood, and supported.
