Job Description

Licensed Therapist | Full Caseload Without Running a Business Ankeny Family Counseling - 3.9 Ankeny, IA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $60,000 - $90,000 a year 18 hours ago Benefits 401(k) matching Flexible schedule Qualifications Master's degree Telehealth platforms Telehealth therapy Full Job Description Licensed Therapist | Build a Full Caseload Without Running a Business Full-Time & Part-Time Opportunities | W-2
Employee Position Compensation:
Commission-Based W-2
Position Typical Annual Earnings:
$60,000-$120,000+ (depending on licensure, caseload, and schedule). There is no cap on earning potential for therapists who choose to build a larger caseload. We're especially interested in therapists who enjoy working with children (ages 4+) and/or couples. Maybe You're Comfortable... But Are You Thriving? Maybe you've been in the same position for years. Maybe you're making decent money. Maybe you've even thought about looking elsewhere... ...but changing jobs feels like too much work. We get it. Changing employers can feel like a big risk, especially when you've worked hard to build your career. That's why we'd simply love the opportunity to have a conversation with you. No pressure. No obligation. Just a chance to show you what life could look like at Ankeny Family Counseling. You don't even have to leave your current position to explore the opportunity. Many therapists begin by working with us part-time while keeping their current job. It gives you the opportunity to experience our culture, see how our referral process works, build a caseload at your own pace, and decide whether we're the right long-term fit—all without taking a leap of faith. If you discover you love it here, wonderful. If not, you'll know you explored your options without giving up the security you've already built. Build the Practice You Want. We'll Help You Get There. A successful therapy career isn't built on working harder—it's built on having the right support. At Ankeny Family Counseling, we've invested in marketing, physician relationships, school partnerships, community outreach, SEO, and a dedicated intake team because we know that consistent referrals create successful therapists.
Our goal is simple:
Help you build a thriving, sustainable caseload while taking the business side of private practice off your shoulders. Tired of Running a Solo Practice? If you're in private practice, you probably didn't become a therapist because you dreamed of... ...credentialing with insurance companies. ...appealing denied claims. ...marketing your practice. ...answering scheduling questions. ...tracking unpaid balances. ...keeping up with ever-changing insurance requirements. You became a therapist to help people. Let us do the heavy lifting. We handle the marketing, referrals, insurance credentialing, billing, scheduling support, administrative work, and practice infrastructure so you can focus on what matters most—providing exceptional care. Why Therapists Choose Ankeny Family Counseling For nearly 11 years , we've been one of Central Iowa's trusted counseling practices, helping thousands of individuals, couples, and families while building a workplace where therapists can truly thrive. We're growing and looking for compassionate clinicians who want to build a rewarding career—not just find another job. We're especially looking for therapists who enjoy working with: ⭐ Children (ages 4 and older) ⭐ Couples ⭐ Families ⭐ Teens and Adults These specialties are in high demand and provide an excellent opportunity to build a rewarding, consistent caseload. Why Our W-2 Model Matters Unlike many private practices that hire therapists as independent contractors (1099), our clinicians are W-2 employees.
That means:
✔ Taxes are automatically withheld from your paycheck. ✔ No surprise quarterly tax payments. ✔ Easier budgeting and greater financial stability. ✔ The support of being part of an established, growing practice. You became a therapist—not a payroll specialist. We'll take care of the business details so you can focus on your clients. What You'll Love About Working Here ✔ Established practice with a strong referral base ✔ Dedicated intake team helping fill your schedule ✔ Active marketing promoting every clinician ✔ Insurance credentialing handled for you ✔ Billing handled for you ✔ Beautiful, fully furnished offices ✔ Hybrid in-person and telehealth opportunities ✔ Flexible scheduling ✔ Clinical consultation and supervision available ✔ Administrative support so you can focus on therapy—not paperwork ✔ Friendly, collaborative team culture ✔ Leadership that knows your name and genuinely cares about your success Unlimited Earning Potential This is a commission-based W-2 position where your income grows as your caseload grows. We provide the referrals, marketing, billing, credentialing, scheduling support, and administrative infrastructure so you can focus on building meaningful relationships with your clients—not building a business. Whether you're looking for part-time or full-time, you'll have the flexibility to create the schedule that fits your life while building a rewarding career. Responsibilities Provide individual, couples, and family therapy. Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments. Develop individualized treatment plans. Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, play therapy, or other modalities consistent with your training. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation. Collaborate with fellow clinicians and our administrative team. Participate in consultation and ongoing professional development. Qualifications Required LMHC, LISW, LMFT, or provisionally licensed therapist eligible for supervision. Passion for helping others. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to provide in-person services with flexibility for telehealth. Preferred Experience or interest in counseling children ages 4 and older. Experience providing couples counseling. Experience working with families. Our Mission Our mission is simple: Help people heal while creating an exceptional workplace where therapists can thrive. We believe great client care starts with supporting great therapists. If you're looking for a place where you can build a meaningful career, enjoy coming to work each day, and make a genuine difference in people's lives, we'd love to meet you. Ready to Start the Conversation? Whether you're actively looking for a new opportunity or simply curious about what Ankeny Family Counseling has to offer, we'd love to connect. Send us your resume and tell us a little about yourself, your clinical interests, and what you're looking for in the next chapter of your career. Sometimes the best career decisions begin with a simple conversation.
