Description Position Overview Tender Hands Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and culturally competent Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our growing team in a full-time capacity. Work Environment As a remote-based organization, our counseling services thrive on flexibility and innovation. Our outpatient facility emphasizes a supportive and welcoming environment, encouraging therapists to develop strong therapeutic relationships with clients. Core working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of our diverse clientele. Key Responsibilities Conduct detailed, culturally sensitive mental health assessments to gain insights into patients' unique experiences, challenges, and backgrounds. Design and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions that consider cultural and personal nuances. Provide one-on-one, family, and group therapy sessions that aim to enhance mental resilience and coping strategies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals, including psychiatrists and psychologists, to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care. Offer immediate crisis intervention and mental health support, demonstrating calm and effective techniques during emergencies. Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment modalities, and local support resources to encourage informed decision-making. Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation aligned with legal and ethical standards, ensuring clinical practices are up to date. Engage actively in case discussions, team meetings, and ongoing cultural competency training to foster a cohesive team dynamic and enhanced service delivery. Stay informed about the latest research and developments in mental health therapy, applying knowledge to improve patient outcomes. Patient Population / Client Focus You will have the privilege of working with a richly diverse patient population, including individuals from various ethnic backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and those who have experienced the challenges of immigration. Your work will contribute meaningfully to their emotional health and stability, addressing an array of concerns from anxiety and depression to complex trauma. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. Possession of a current and valid license as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Kansas. Extensive knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment strategies with a focus on cultural competency. Demonstrated experience delivering therapeutic services to a varied demographic, utilizing inclusive and culturally responsive methods. Strong crisis intervention capabilities, with a calm demeanor in high-pressure situations. Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, adept at establishing rapport with diverse populations. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications. A solid commitment to ethical practices, confidentiality, and maintaining professional boundaries. Ability to thrive in a collaborative multidisciplinary team setting. Preferred Experience Experience in providing culturally aware therapy, particularly to marginalized or underserved groups. Prior history of working in outpatient settings with a focus on holistic and community-oriented care. Familiarity with various therapeutic modalities and the ability to integrate them into practice effectively. Compensation and Benefits The annual salary for this position ranges from
USD 70,000
to USD 100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
