Full Job Description SUMMARY:
The Substance Use Treatment (SUT) Counselor provides documented individual and group clinical services and case management to residents according to the clinical design and with the goal of maximizing positive clinical outcomes for the persons served.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides quality clinical services and case management to assigned residents in accordance with Kincasa's clinical design and in compliance with all regulatory agencies and insurance providers.
  • Conducts intake assessments, treatment plans, aftercare planning and discharge summaries and completes all associated documentation within required time frames.
  • Facilitates education, recovery and other groups to residents and documents all resident interactions in their record.
  • Screens new admissions for substance use and mental health needs, including screening for suicide and self-harm risk.
  • Coordinates and communicates with outside treatment providers and services as needed to ensure the best overall care for persons served and meeting their needs outside the scope of our services.
  • Demonstrates a high-level of interpersonal skills and customer service when interacting with residents, co-workers, families, vendors, referral sources and other outside agencies
  • Assists Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) and case management staff with daily tasks as needed to support the team
  • Participates in treatment team meetings, case review and supervision as directed.
  • Assists with behavior management, crisis management and other situations as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS ANDEXPERIENCE
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one (1) year supervised counseling experience in substance use disorder treatment, mental health treatment or other related behavioral health discipline. Must have experience working with substance use treatment populations; additional relevant education or experience working with co-occurring populations is highly desirable. Licensure or certification in alcohol and drug counseling, mental health or counseling, or actively working toward licensure, is preferred, but experience can be substituted for education and/or work towards certification or licensure Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and electronic health records required. Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in managing resident behavior, resolving problems and in emergencies. Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting with residents, families, staff and visitors.
Pay:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
