Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Therapist to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems, to determine appropriate treatment plans. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions using modalities such as psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA). Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety during acute episodes. Facilitate intake procedures for new patients and maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop case management plans tailored to each patient's needs, including working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to provide remote counseling services while maintaining high standards of patient care and confidentiality. Engage in clinical research activities and data collection efforts to support ongoing quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as required by state law. Proven experience in behavioral health settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, or hospital environments. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical records management. Expertise in evidence-based practices including psychopharmacology, addiction counseling, grief counseling, PTSD care, and gender issues counseling. Skilled in crisis management techniques and behavior management strategies for diverse populations. Experience working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities; familiarity with special education is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and telehealth technology; understanding of HIPAA compliance standards is essential.
