Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Peer Facilitator to join our dynamic team, committed to fostering recovery, resilience, and empowerment within our community. As a Peer Facilitator, you will serve as a vital link between individuals seeking support and the resources they need to thrive. Your lived experience with behavioral health challenges, substance use recovery, or mental health conditions will inspire hope and motivate others on their journey toward wellness. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a supportive environment that values diversity, compassion, and advocacy. Responsibilities Lead peer support groups and facilitate engaging discussions focused on recovery, mental health, and harm reduction strategies. Share personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and foster trust among participants. Provide crisis management and crisis intervention when necessary, ensuring safety for all individuals involved. Employ motivational interviewing techniques to encourage clients' motivation for change and personal growth. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized recovery plans that respect cultural diversity and unique needs. Maintain strict confidentiality of client information in accordance with privacy laws and ethical standards. Advocate for clients' needs by connecting them with community resources, behavioral health services, and social support networks. Requirements Proven experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, mental health conditions, or co-occurring disorders. Strong understanding of behavioral health principles, addiction counseling, and harm reduction practices. Skilled in crisis management, crisis intervention, and behavioral health support strategies. Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse communities and demonstrate cultural competence. Excellent client communication skills with an empathetic approach rooted in peer support advocacy. Experience sharing personal recovery stories to motivate others while maintaining professional boundaries. Knowledge of motivational interviewing techniques and client-centered approaches to facilitate engagement.
