Job Description

Behavioral Health Counselor (LPC or LCSW) Position Summary The behavioral health counselor will provide outpatient psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, families, and groups using evidence-based approaches. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting diverse communities, comfortable working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, and committed to delivering trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. Principal Duties Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy using evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, etc.) Deliver trauma-informed, culturally competent care Coordinate care with internal care team and external resources as needed Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR, and ensure charts are locked within 48 hours Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate Support crisis intervention and safety planning when necessary Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Skills/Job Requirements Ability to conduct diagnostic and risk assessments Competence in developing and adjusting treatment plans based on patient needs and progress Skilled in using EMR for documentation Empathetic, patient-centered approach Sound clinical judgment and decision-making Ability to manage a balanced caseload in a fast-paced or evolving environment Adaptable and responsive to clinic growth and patient needs Experience & Education Master's degree in counseling (LPC) or Social Work (LCSW) Active LPC or LCSW license in Mississippi 1-2 years' experience providing psychotherapy with evidence-based practices for mental health and co-occurring conditions An unrestricted license to practice in the state of Mississippi No suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal health care programs (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP) Physical Requirements Needs to be able to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasional, reach and manipulate objects with their hands (like a keyboard). Have good vision for reading computer screens and be able to hear clearly to answer phone calls; most positions may require lifting light items up to 10 pounds occasionally.
