Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Group Facilitator will lead structured therapeutic and psychoeducational group sessions for clients in
PHP/IOP/OP
setting. This role supports clients in developing insight, building coping skills, and enhancing engagement in their treatment. The Group Facilitator ensures a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment that promotes healing and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and Facilitate Groups:
Develop and conduct group sessions aligned with program goals and client needs, using evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed approach.
Maintain Documentation:
Complete timely, accurate, and thorough group notes that meet clinical and regulatory standards.
Promote Engagement:
Foster an environment of trust, respect, and participation, encouraging clients to explore topics and share experiences.
Monitor Group Dynamics:
Address disruptive behaviors and manage group dynamics to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. Collaborate with
Team:
Communicate regularly with clinical staff to share insights and feedback about clients' progress, needs, and goals. Adhere to
Ethical Standards:
Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality in all interactions.
Support Program Objectives:
Assist with curriculum development and contribute to the continuous improvement of group programming.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field (required); Master's degree preferred. Relevant certification or licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC) preferred, depending on setting. Experience facilitating groups in a behavioral health, substance use, or social services setting. Knowledge of group facilitation techniques, group process, and evidence-based interventions. Ability to build rapport, demonstrate empathy, and maintain appropriate boundaries. Strong organizational and communication skills. Commitment to trauma-informed, client-centered, and culturally responsive care. Must have open availability
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Occasional light lifting or movement of materials (up to 15 lbs).
Compliance and Confidentiality:
Adhere to all federal, state, and program-specific regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Maintain documentation and group notes in compliance with agency policies and licensing standards.
