Emerald Wellness is seeking an experienced, independently licensed clinician to serve as a Group Facilitator. This role is centered on group work: leading therapy and psychoeducational groups, shaping the curriculum behind them, and holding the room when group dynamics get complicated. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a clinician who has run enough groups to read a room quickly, redirect a derailing session without shaming anyone, and adapt in the moment when the plan on paper is not what the group in front of them needs. The right candidate brings clinical maturity, strong boundaries, and genuine warmth, and works in alignment with Emerald Wellness's mission of holistic, client-centered care. Key Responsibilities Facilitate process, skills-based, and psychoeducational groups for adults with primary mental health diagnoses, including clients with co-occurring substance use disorders. Develop, refine, and update group curricula grounded in evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma-focused approaches. Screen and assess prospective group members for appropriateness, readiness, and fit, and coordinate placement with referring clinicians. Manage group dynamics actively, including conflict, dominance, withdrawal, and disclosures that need to be contained or redirected. Establish and maintain group norms, confidentiality agreements, and a culture of safety across all sessions. Provide crisis intervention when clinical needs emerge during group, including risk assessment, safety planning, and appropriate escalation. Complete accurate, timely group notes and individual member documentation in the EHR, consistent with regulatory and payer standards. Track member progress and communicate clinical observations to primary therapists, psychiatrists, case managers, and support staff. Co-facilitate with and mentor less experienced clinicians and interns, including modeling technique and providing structured feedback. Contribute to program development as Emerald Wellness expands group offerings, including new tracks, scheduling, and outcome measurement. Maintain continuing education in group therapy theory and practice. Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a closely related field. Active, independent state licensure as an LPC or LCSW in good standing. Associate-level licenses (LAC, LSW) are not eligible for this role. Minimum of 5 years of post-master's clinical experience with adult populations, including at least 3 years facilitating therapy or psychoeducational groups. Direct experience serving adults whose primary diagnosis is a mental health condition, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders. Demonstrated skill in managing complex group dynamics and high-acuity clinical presentations in a group setting. Proficiency in evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, or trauma-focused therapies, with the ability to translate them into group format. Experience developing or substantially adapting group curricula. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport across diverse client populations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfort working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Working knowledge of EHR systems and documentation standards. Commitment to client confidentiality and ethical practice. Preferred Qualifications Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use presentations, including integrated treatment models. Experience with trauma-specific group programming. Certification in a specialized modality such as EMDR, DBT, or a formal trauma-informed care credential. Approved clinical supervisor designation in the state of licensure. Prior experience in an IOP, PHP, or structured outpatient program. Familiarity with group outcome measures and quality tracking. Work Environment Per diem position. Hours are scheduled based on program census and group calendar, with shifts offered on an as-needed basis. All groups are facilitated in person at Emerald Wellness facilities. This role does not include telehealth. Daytime schedule. No evening groups.
