Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Trauma Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this vital role, you will provide specialized trauma-focused therapy to individuals, children, and families experiencing the effects of trauma, grief, and complex emotional challenges. Your expertise will help clients develop resilience, improve mental well-being, and regain control of their lives through evidence-based practices and compassionate care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of diverse populations, including those with co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities, utilizing innovative treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and group counseling. The Trauma Therapist will work in a supportive environment that values clinical excellence, ethical standards, and continuous professional growth. Duties Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding standards to determine client needs and treatment planning. Deliver trauma-focused therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-informed approaches tailored to individual client needs. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support for clients experiencing acute emotional distress or trauma-related emergencies. Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on grief counseling, PTSD care, child & youth therapy, and behavior management strategies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records using EMR/EHR systems while adhering to clinical documentation standards. Engage in ongoing research and data collection to inform evidence-based practice improvements; participate in case management activities and clinical research initiatives. Support telehealth therapy services by providing remote counseling sessions that meet clinical standards for quality care. Qualifications Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as required by state law (e.g., LCSW, LPC). Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in mental health settings; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of trauma-focused therapies such as CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), or other evidence-based trauma interventions. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), medical terminology, and medical records management; experience with EMR/EHR systems is preferred. Excellent skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, behavior management, and social work practices within inpatient or outpatient environments. Ability to conduct mental health assessments accurately and develop effective treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards. Experience working with co-occurring disorders including addiction counseling or psychiatric comorbidities is a plus.
