Job Description

Overview Long Island Mental Health is a private practice in Shoreham, NY. We have been serving the community for over a decade. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health clinicians to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health treatment and be committed to providing high-quality care to individuals facing various challenges. This role involves working with clients to develop effective treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based practices, and fostering a supportive therapeutic environment. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide individual therapy sessions to clients with mental health concerns Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. Utilize ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation and billing processes. Engage in crisis management when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of clients. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and share insights on client progress. Monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of client interactions and treatment plans. Stay informed about current trends in mental health treatment and integrate new findings into practice. Skills Proficiency in medical terminology related to mental health conditions. Strong understanding of crisis management techniques and strategies. Understanding of ICD-10 diagnostic codes and documentation requirements. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ability to conduct thorough data collection for assessment and evaluation purposes. Competence in working with a variety of mental health concerns Understanding of Christian counseling principles is desirable but not mandatory. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and colleagues. Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
