Resident in Counseling (W2) - Virginia LPC Licensure Track | Clinical Supervision Provided Kentala Behavioral Health is hiring an in-person Resident in Counseling in Virginia who is seeking a supportive clinical environment to complete supervised experience toward Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure . Our goal is to provide Residents in Counseling with a supportive environment where they can strengthen their clinical skills, receive appropriate supervision, and work toward independent licensure. This position is ideal for a counselor who wants to gain post-graduate clinical experience in Virginia while receiving ongoing guidance from experienced clinical professionals. Clinical Supervision Clinical supervision is an important part of the residency experience. The selected Resident in Counseling will participate in clinical supervision consistent with applicable Virginia requirements and the supervision arrangement established with Kentala Behavioral Health.
Supervision and consultation may include:
Individual and/or group clinical supervision. Case conceptualization and treatment planning. Review of clinical documentation. Diagnostic and assessment consultation. Ethical and professional consultation. Development of clinical competencies. Support with professional development. Guidance related to progress toward LPC licensure. Responsibilities The Resident in Counseling will: Provide outpatient individual counseling and other clinical services within the scope of training and authorization. Complete clinical assessments and treatment plans. Provide appropriate evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Participate consistently in required clinical supervision. Consult with supervisors regarding clinical concerns and complex cases. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries. Protect client confidentiality and HIPAA. Follow applicable Virginia laws, regulations, ethical standards, and practice policies. Maintain required professional registration and credentials. Continue developing clinical knowledge and counseling skills.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or a related counseling field. Currently registered as a Resident in Counseling in Virginia . Commitment to pursue Virginia LPC licensure . Ability to meet applicable Virginia Board requirements for supervised clinical experience. Strong clinical documentation and communication skills. Commitment to ethical, culturally responsive, and client-centered care.
