  • Position Overview
  • We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate
  • School Counselor or General Education Teacher
  • to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success within a school setting. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with students, families, school staff, and community partners to help create a positive learning environment and ensure students have the support they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Provide direct support and intervention services to students experiencing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
+ Assist students in developing strategies to improve school performance, attendance, behavior, and overall well-being. + Work collaboratively with parents, guardians, teachers, administrators, and support staff to address student needs. + Connect students and families with appropriate community resources and support services. + Serve as a liaison between home, school, and outside agencies when necessary. + Participate in student support meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, evaluations, and program reviews. + Maintain accurate and confidential student records, documentation, and reports. + Support students through crisis intervention and problem-solving situations as needed. + Conduct home visits when appropriate to support student success and family engagement. + Assist with attendance initiatives and interventions related to truancy concerns. + Advocate for students and help ensure access to appropriate educational and support services. + Provide consultation and support to school staff regarding student mental health and social-emotional needs. + Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school improvement initiatives. + Build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community partners. + Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
  • + Master' Degree required.
+ Wisconsin teaching license, School Counselor license, School Social Worker license, or eligibility for appropriate Wisconsin licensure preferred. + Previous experience working with children or adolescents preferred. + Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. + Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff. + Knowledge of social-emotional learning, behavior intervention strategies, and student support services preferred. + Strong organizational and documentation skills. + Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment. + Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • + Previous experience in a school setting. + Experience supporting students with social, emotional, behavioral, or academic challenges. + Experience collaborating with families and community agencies. + Background in counseling, education, psychology, social work, or a related field. + Knowledge of special education processes and student intervention systems.
