This family values a thoughtful, child-centered approach to early childhood and would especially love to meet candidates who have experience or education in early childhood development, Waldorf-inspired care, Montessori, Reggio Emilia, nature-based learning, or similar philosophies. The ideal nanny understands the importance of allowing children to learn and develop through play, creativity, imagination, outdoor exploration, predictable rhythms, and age-appropriate independence. The family is looking for someone who can provide attentive, nurturing care while supporting the routines, values, and parenting philosophy already established in their home.
Compensation:
$20 - $22 hourly
Responsibilities:
Schedule & Job Responsibilities This is a 35-hour-per-week position . The nanny will be responsible for providing consistent, engaged, and developmentally appropriate care while helping maintain the children's daily routines and creating a calm, nurturing environment.
Responsibilities will include:
Providing attentive and hands-on care throughout the scheduled 35-hour work week Planning developmentally appropriate activities that align with the family's Waldorf-inspired and child-centered philosophy Encouraging imaginative and independent play with an emphasis on limited/screen-free activities Incorporating outdoor time, nature exploration, walks, playground visits, and other physical activities into the children's routine Reading, storytelling, music, arts and crafts, sensory activities, and creative play Maintaining consistent daily rhythms and routines, including meals, snacks, rest/nap times, transitions, and activities Preparing simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children Supporting age-appropriate independence and life skills Using gentle, respectful, and consistent approaches to boundaries and behavior Transporting children to activities, appointments, school, or outings as needed Keeping children's play and activity areas organized and tidy Children's laundry and organization of clothing and belongings Cleaning up after children's meals and activities Preparing and organizing children's items for outings, school, or activities Communicating regularly with parents regarding the children's day, routines, development, and any concerns Working collaboratively with the parents to consistently reinforce the family's routines, expectations, and childcare philosophy The family is looking for a nanny who understands that their role is to partner with and support the parents . The nanny will help carry out the routines, values, and childcare approach established by the family while bringing their own warmth, creativity, reliability, and professional childcare experience to the position.
