Job Description

Charlotte's Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in Mooresville, NC, in finding a Full-Time Nanny for their two children: a girl who is 3, almost 4 years old, and a 16-month-old boy. The nanny would be needed Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm. Some weeks the hours may flex earlier or later depending on the parent's work schedules and family needs; advance notice will be given. There will also be occasional babysitting opportunities on nights or weekends. The best nanny for this family would be a dependable, warm, and proactive partner who can help quarterback the day. This family is looking for someone flexible and loving who comes in each day with a game plan, thinks ahead with a structured activity plan, and keeps the children's schedule running smoothly. The nanny will care for their 4-year-old daughter, who attends preschool five days a week, and their 16-month-old son, who attends a two-day preschool program. The nanny will handle preschool drop-off and pickup using the family's vehicle. The parents will take care of transportation to all doctor's appointments and extracurricular activities. The family values a balance of structured and unstructured play, with age-appropriate developmental activities that keep both children growing and learning. Their daughter loves to read, paint, do arts and crafts, and use her imagination, while their son enjoys touch-and-feel books, ride-on toys, and playing outside. Both children love the swings and slide, the playground, the library, the tumbling gym, and exploring local activities in the Mooresville area. The home is screen-free with a wide variety of toys and activities to choose from, and the children's grandmother, a former teacher, has provided the family with wonderful resources for learning activity ideas. The family is open to many suggestions for developmental activities and resources the nanny would like to use and the suggestions the family provides. The neighborhood offers a walking trail, playground, tennis courts, and other children with nannies and au pairs to play with. Both children currently nap in the afternoon, though the family expects this to change over time. The nanny will also support their son with potty training when he is ready. Light support related to the children is part of the role, including keeping the playroom tidy, rotating books and toys, teaching the children to clean up after themselves, helping with meal prep, and cleaning up after meals. Privacy is important to this family: the nanny should not share photos of the children with anyone other than the parents or approved family members, and should uphold confidentiality. The family asks that phone use be limited while the children are awake. The nanny should be comfortable following the parents' approach to parenting, which does not include time-outs, and should be comfortable working in a home where the parents work from home and grandparent/family visits occur.
Nanny Responsibilities Include:
Meeting daily scheduling needs of the children (feeding, changing, napping) Engaging with the children on an age-appropriate level Playing with the children both inside and outside the home Doing hands-on learning activities with the children Household Duties Include (Children are priority): Children's laundry and changing children's sheets weekly Children's meal prep Unloading/loading dishwasher Wiping down kitchen counters Sanitizing toys and frequently used surfaces by the children Emptying diaper trash
