Child Care Director 4876 Highway 153, Easley, SC 29642 From $45,000 a year - Full-time From $45,000 a year - Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Child Care Director to lead and oversee the daily operations of a vibrant early childhood education center. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can thrive. You will coordinate staff, ensure compliance with licensing regulations, and promote best practices in childhood development and education. Your leadership will inspire a team dedicated to fostering growth, curiosity, and well-being among young learners. Candidate must meet all DSS requirements for education and experience Responsibilities Manage the daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. Lead, supervise, and support teaching staff to deliver high-quality early childhood education aligned with developmental best practices. Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal licensing requirements related to childcare and early childhood education. Oversee staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development in areas such as classroom management, behavior management, and child development instruction. Foster strong relationships with families by communicating regularly about their child's progress and addressing any concerns promptly. Maintain a safe environment by implementing health protocols, conducting safety drills, and ensuring staff are trained in pediatric first aid and mandated reporting laws. Coordinate classroom activities for infants through preschool-age children, including toddler care and special needs accommodations when necessary. Monitor classroom environments to ensure they are engaging, inclusive, and conducive to learning for children with diverse needs including those with disabilities. Promote a positive team culture focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and exceptional caregiving standards. Experience Proven experience working with young children in daycare or preschool settings with classroom management responsibilities. Prior leadership or director experience in an early childhood education environment is highly preferred. Extensive knowledge of childhood development theories, early childhood education practices, and caregiving techniques. Hands-on experience with infant care, toddler care, preschool curriculum implementation, and classroom experience across various age groups. Familiarity with state licensing regulations related to childcare centers and mandated reporting laws. Certification in first aid (including pediatric first aid) and CPR is required; additional certifications such as special education or working with individuals with disabilities are advantageous. Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of safety, behavior management, and educational quality.
