Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and versatile Part Time Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our building's interior and exterior spaces. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and residents. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills while contributing to the overall maintenance excellence of our facility. Duties Perform routine maintenance and repair of facilities equipment, including electrical systems, plumbing, and building interior components. Use hand tools and electrical equipment such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. Conduct maintenance painting, carpentry, welding, and other building repairs to uphold safety standards and aesthetic quality. Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures to accurately diagnose problems. Maintain plumbing systems by inspecting, repairing, or replacing fixtures and pipes as needed. Support HVAC system repair and routine servicing to ensure optimal climate control within the facility. Assist with facilities equipment maintenance including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation systems. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or residents with a focus on excellent customer service. Adhere to safety protocols while handling electrical work, plumbing repairs, or mechanical tasks. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs for compliance and future reference. Helping maintain rental properties as the childcare facilities . Qualifications Proven experience in facilities maintenance or related roles with knowledge of electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, and building interior maintenance. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience with hand tools, schematics, and electrical equipment repair. Ability to perform carpentry (including residential painting), and maintenance painting tasks effectively. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in building automation is a plus. Experience with maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) procedures in a commercial or residential setting. Knowledge of HVAC system repair along with the ability to troubleshoot using schematics and technical manuals. Electrical experience including troubleshooting with ohmmeters and repairing electrical equipment. Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and customer interactions. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities efficiently. Leadership qualities are desirable for supporting team efforts in larger projects or emergency repairs.
