Primary Purpose:
Responsible for providing instruction and assuring each child is well cared for and safe at the CISD Employee Child Care Center.
Qualifications:
18 years of age or older
Education/Certification:
Per the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS), new employees with less than 2 years' experience must: Obtain 24 hours of pre-service training within 90 days of hire to work in a licensed center (employees will not be compensated for pre-service hours) Complete 8 of the 24 hours of pre-service training hours before being counted in the child/caregiver ratio Have high school diploma, high school equivalent, or high school certificate of coursework completion as defined in Texas Education Code, §28.025(d) Acquire and maintain current CPR, First Aid and Food Handler's certificates, TAcquire exas Education Aide Certificate or Child Development Associates (CDA) Associates Degree in Early Childhood or closely related field or Valid (Preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of TDFPS minimum standards for child-care centers Knowledge of developmental milestones of young children Ability to work flexible hours, be punctual and demonstrate a positive attitude Display good communication skills and ability to receive and follow directions Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal skills and enjoy being around children Ability to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability Ability to work with diverse populations
Experience:
Experience in a licensed child care related fields preferred
Salary:
Starting Salary Range:
$23,684-$34,059
Work Calendar:
191 Days Salary determination will be based on verified relevant work experience.
