This role offers an opportunity to serve individuals facing terminal illness with sensitivity, respect, and deep spiritual guidance rooted in Catholic faith. The Chaplain will facilitate religious rites, offer bereavement support, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care that honors each patient's spiritual needs. Responsibilities Provide spiritual counseling, comfort, and guidance to patients and families facing end-of-life challenges, respecting individual beliefs and cultural backgrounds. Conduct Catholic Rites such as sacraments, prayer services, Eucharist (Holy Communion), and last rites in accordance with church teachings. Offer bereavement support and grief counseling to family members before and after a patient's passing. Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to integrate spiritual care into overall patient treatment plans. Facilitate crisis intervention during emotional or spiritual distress, ensuring compassionate response and conflict management. Requirements Ordination or recognized certification as a Catholic clergyperson. Proven experience working with terminally ill patients in hospice care. Strong knowledge of Catholic rites, and pastoral counseling techniques. Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver public speaking engagements and educational presentations effectively. Demonstrated ability to work with culturally diverse communities and provide sensitive spiritual guidance across different backgrounds. Deep empathy, active listening skills, and cultural sensitivity. Maintain accurate, timely documentation of visits and care provided.
Pay:
$50.00 - $100.00 per hour
