Hazlehurst First Methodist church is a vibrant, multi-generational congregation centered on gospel-driven worship and community teaching. We are seeking a part-time Minister of Music who is spiritually grounded, relationally gifted, and musically skilled to lead our music ministry. As the church grows there is the possibility of this position becoming full time.

Position Summary:

The Minister of Music will oversee all aspects of our music and worship life, working closely with the pastor and others to craft meaningful, Christ-centered, vibrant worship services. Also, to work with the children's and Youth ministry teams to develop appropriate music programs for those age levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and lead Sunday worship services in collaboration with the Lead Pastor. Develop, direct and rehearse an adult praise team or choir and instrumentalists. Mentor and develop volunteer musicians and vocalists of varying skill levels. Plan seasonal programs (Christmas, Easter, etc.) and possible community musical events. Manage the annual music ministry budget and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications & Skills:

A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to worship ministry. Proven experience (3+ years preferred) leading corporate worship in a church setting. Strong vocal and instrumental proficiency (keyboard/piano or guitar skills preferred). Working knowledge of multiple styles of music such as Hymns, praise songs and children's music. A team player with strong administrative and pastoral communication skills.
