Irving Park United Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC is seeking a qualified and motivated person to lead and build our Children and Youth Ministry. Irving Park is a medium sized church that has experienced significant growth in recent years and sits in a residential neighborhood in North Greensboro with great ministry potential. The Director of Children and Youth Ministries will: Disciple children, youth, and families through faith formation, participation in worship, and engagement in Christian community. Plan and lead Sunday School as well as other ministry programs. Recruit, equip, and support volunteers while maintaining Safe Sanctuary standards set forth by the United Methodist Church. Communicate effectively with church staff, congregation, families, and the surrounding community regarding ministry needs and opportunities. Skills and Qualifications Possess faith in Jesus Christ and are an energetic and committed Christian role model. Strong administrative, communication, and creative skills for planning and facilitating programs. Ability to build meaningful relationships with children and youth, while respecting appropriate boundaries. An entrepreneurial spirit to help build and foster a culture for Children and Youth ministries in the church and local neighborhood. An earned a bachelor's degree.

Preferred:

Experience in church/parish ministries.

Preferred:

training in ministry, theology, counseling, psychology or social work.
