Job Description

About Us Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services (AARS) is a nonprofit residential treatment center serving adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Our mission is to provide compassionate, client-centered care that supports recovery, dignity, and long-term wellness. We value teamwork, accountability, and creating a safe, supportive environment for both clients and staff. Position Summary The Facility Monitor plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive residential environment. This position provides on-site monitoring of the facility, ensures adherence to program rules, and supports clients in daily routines while modeling professionalism, respect, and recovery-oriented behavior. Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor facility and grounds to ensure safety, security, and compliance with program policies
  • Conduct routine facility checks and document observations accurately
  • Support clients in maintaining daily structure, schedules, and community expectations
  • Observe and report client behaviors, concerns, or incidents to clinical or supervisory staff
  • Enforce program rules in a respectful, trauma-informed manner
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and client transitions as directed
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, safety concerns, or crisis situations
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and agency policies
  • Model healthy boundaries, professionalism, and recovery-oriented values Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, residential care, or human services preferred
  • Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and consistent in a structured environment
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn trauma-informed and client-centered care practices
  • Ability to pass a background check and comply with state and agency requirements
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain (training may be provided) Work Environment

From $22.00 per hour
