The ideal candidate is a hands-on, compassionate, organized leader who understands the importance of regulatory compliance, person-centered care, staff development, behavioral support, and maintaining a safe and supportive residential environment. Essential Responsibilities Oversee the daily operations of two licensed Level 6 Adult Residential Facility and ensure the home operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with agency standards. Ensure compliance with California Title 22, Title 17, CCLD licensing requirements, DDS and SDRC guidelines, HCBS Final Rules, HIPAA, and applicable agency policies and procedures. Supervise, support, coach, and develop DSPs, Lead DSPs, and other residential staff. Manage staffing needs, schedules, performance concerns, staff guidance, and participation in the agency on-call rotation. Monitor and ensure implementation of Individual Program Plans (IPPs), Individual Service Plans, behavior support plans, safety protocols, and individualized support strategies. Work collaboratively with behavior consultants, regional center representatives, families, medical professionals, and other members of each individual's support team. Recognize behavioral triggers and ensure staff appropriately implement approved behavioral support and de-escalation techniques. Provide leadership and support during behavioral incidents, medical emergencies, and other unexpected situations. Ensure staff complete required documentation, including progress notes, behavioral data, medication documentation, incident reports, and other required records accurately and on time. Conduct and coordinate staff training, coaching, orientation, in-service education, and performance development. Maintain the house budget and client P&I accounts, purchase groceries, household supplies, and other necessary items. Oversee medication procedures in accordance with training, agency policies, and applicable regulations. Monitor health, safety, security, universal precautions, safe work practices, fire/safety/disaster plans, and risk-management procedures. Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and supportive residential environment. Assist with household and resident needs as necessary, including meal preparation, cooking, laundry, bed-making, and other household responsibilities. Provide or coordinate assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and other personal-care needs when necessary. Ensure residents receive appropriate supervision and support with daily routines, appointments, recreation, work/day programs, and community activities. Safely transport individuals to and from appointments, day programs, activities, work programs, clinics, community agencies, and other destinations as required. Attend required meetings, trainings, and agency events. Report unsafe working conditions, significant incidents, changes in resident condition, and other concerns promptly to appropriate personnel. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet the needs of the residents and facility. Minimum Qualifications Valid California ARF Administrator Certification. Valid California Driver's License and acceptable/clean driving record. Completion of DSP Year 1 and DSP Year 2. Minimum two years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and enhanced behavioral support needs. Recent experience working as an ARF Administrator (Level 6 ARF experience strongly preferred). Working knowledge of California Title 22, Title 17, HIPAA regulations, CCLD licensing standards, DDS/SDRC requirements, and HCBS Final Rules. Demonstrated experience supervising and managing a team of DSPs. Ability to successfully complete required California Department of Justice and FBI background checks. Approved CDSS criminal record exemptions may be accepted where applicable. Ability to successfully complete all required pre-employment health screenings, including physical examination, drug screening, and TB testing. 40-hour Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) completion certificate preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership, management, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively supervise, motivate, coach, and develop residential staff. Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive during behavioral escalations, emergencies, and other challenging situations. Knowledge of person-centered practices and behavioral support strategies for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and meet regulatory deadlines. Physical Requirements Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with reasonable accommodation when applicable The position may require prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting items weighing 50 pounds or less repeatedly during the shift Schedule & Availability The Administrator must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as necessary to meet facility operations and resident needs.
