Location:
On-site, residential facility Position Summary The House Manager (CMT) oversees the day-to-day operation of the residential facility during the day shift, maintaining a safe, structured, and recovery-oriented living environment for adult residents. In addition to managing the milieu and supervising residents, the House Manager administers and documents medications within the scope of a Certified Medication Technician (CMT), in accordance with Maryland Board of Nursing requirements, CARF standards, and facility policy. Key ResponsibilitiesResidential Oversight & Milieu Management Supervise residents throughout the day shift, maintaining a safe, respectful, and structured environment. Enforce house rules, daily schedules, and program expectations consistently and fairly. Conduct regular safety, security, and wellness checks; document resident whereabouts and status. Coordinate daily living activities, meals, chores, and scheduled programming. Support residents' transitions (admissions, appointments, discharges) during the shift. Medication Administration (CMT Scope) Administer and document resident medications accurately and on schedule, within the CMT scope of practice and under required nursing oversight. Observe and report medication side effects, missed doses, refusals, or concerns to nursing/clinical staff. Maintain secure medication storage, counts, and records in accordance with policy and regulations. Safety, Crisis Response & Documentation Respond to behavioral or medical situations, providing de-escalation and initiating emergency procedures as needed. Complete accurate shift documentation, incident reports, and communication logs. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Ensure the facility remains clean, safe, and compliant with fire, health, and licensing standards. Team Coordination Communicate resident updates and shift information to incoming staff and to the clinical/nursing team. Support the interdisciplinary team by relaying observations relevant to treatment. Follow facility policies, procedures, and CARF/state requirements. QualificationsRequired Active Maryland Certified Medication Technician (CMT) certification in good standing (Maryland Board of Nursing). Active CNA/GNA certification (as required for CMT eligibility). High school diploma or equivalent. Current CPR/BLS certification. Ability to work a 12-hour day shift, including standing, walking, and responding to emergencies. Preferred Experience in a residential, behavioral health, substance use, or group-home setting. Familiarity with de-escalation, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented environments. Understanding of CARF (or comparable accreditation) standards. Work Environment & Physical Requirements On-site, 12-hour day shift in a 24-hour residential facility; weekend/holiday rotation may be required.
