We are always seeking caring individuals to support an environment that promotes mutual respect, acceptance, and teamwork. We are currently seeking a Resident Engagement Assistant for our facility.
Hours:
Full-Time and Part-Time. Hours may include weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions:
Assists in planning, organizing, and facilitating a variety of Recreation programs and interventions monthly to residents with cognitive and physical impairments. These activities and programs will take place in a variety of settings, including one-on-one sessions, small groups, and large groups . Leads planned activities as assigned by the Recreation Director. Purchases any needed materials and supplies for the programs (and submit appropriate payment vouchers/receipts) Maintains resident participation results by retaining individual files on each resident, recording reactions, and capacity to participate in attendance records. The Recreation Aide will assist in consulting with appropriate staff members regarding residents and ensures compliance with resident care plans. Evaluates the effectiveness of the overall program by monitoring attendance and resident feedback. Based on the feedback, the Recreation Aide will offer suggestions for new programs and set goals and objectives. Transports residents safely and efficiently to and from programs, activities, and events. The Recreation Aide is responsible for helping residents get to their desired activities per the residents' needs, interests, and capabilities. The Recreation Aide is also responsible for loading and unloading residents into and out of the Barclay Friends van.
Qualifications:
Must demonstrate the ability to successfully communicate with elderly residents at all cognitive levels. Ability to read aloud to an individual, medium, and large-sized group The ability to play and perform music is a plus. Ability to work well with animals. Requires a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Complete the Department of Human Service's Direct Care Training Course and competency test
