Job Description
This is a Part-Time Overnight Shift Resident Assistant position in Monarch Meadows Memory Care Assisted Living which works 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m. Schedules include every other weekend and every other holiday. This position is 24 hours per pay period working every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday. St. Joseph Residence is a not-for-profit Catholic continuing care community seeking caring, compassionate, and responsible individuals to join our assisted living community to provide personal care and daily enrichment in a faith-based environment, supporting and promoting resident independence, respect, dignity, and community. Our memory care unit is focused on caring for residents with dementia and Alzheimer's related diagnosis while creating a safe and stimulating environment, focusing on socialization and engagement, utilizing a friend-to-friend approach. The resident assistant plays a significant role in engaging our residents in meaningful activities throughout our resident's day.
Primary Shift Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for providing direct care services to residents who reside on our memory care unit. This position is an "awake position" that provides direct care for residents throughout the night, and early morning, along with cleaning, laundry and keeping spaces well-organized in between resident care needs. You will be key in ensuring our community is clean, orderly, and welcoming. Having a C.N.A. certification is very helpful, but if you don't have C.N.A. certification that is okay. We will provide training and help with assisted living certification for those who possess the skills and attributes we are looking for to join our team.
Resident Assistant Duties Include:
Personal Care:
Feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, walking and transferring Responsible for providing timely treatments and medication administration under delegation of an RN Participate in customizing resident service plans Monitor resident condition and address change of condition Food service including basic food preparation and serving, dishes, laundry, housekeeping Work in collaboration with residents/family members, coworkers, and other healthcare providers Responsible for timely and accurate charting in the medical record Represent the St. Joseph Residence organization in a professional, customer service-oriented manner Participate in team meetings, performance improvement projects, and ongoing education
State Required Certification Courses:
Standard Precautions, Fire Safety, First Aid, Medication Administration If you are willing to take courses, we will assist you in enrolling in the courses, and you can work while completing the courses Availability to work every other weekend and alternating holiday schedule
