About the
Role:
The Assistant Director assists in the implementation of the daily after school and summer program at the Verda James Elementary Club site! The Assistant Director works closely with the Branch Director to lead high quality programs with youth accounting for program quality, safety, and member engagement. Candidates will be considered on the basis of experience, cultural alignment, and overall fit with the team at the Riverton site. Essential Duties:
Supervise and ensure the safety and engagement of all youth. Assist in development, and implementation of the daily, weekly, and monthly Club schedule. Be a positive role model for youth in our community. Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment where all members feel empowered to learn and explore.
Qualifications:
Passion for youth development and a belief in the potential of all youth. Experience working with children or teens in educational or recreational settings. Strong communication and group management skills. Creativity, patience, and a proactive, mission-driven mindset. Ability to adapt content for youth ages 5 to 18.
Preferred:
experience in education, or with youth. High school diploma or equivalent (required); college coursework in education, recreation, or youth development (preferred). CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen. A Day in the life of a

Wage:
$16
  • 18 per hour DOE.
