Conduct Level II Background Check Entry Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency required. The position requires proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including Excel and Outlook. One year of experience in customer service, workforce development, employment services, human services, social services, education, case management support, or a related field is a plus. Valid Florida Driver's License and access to reliable transportation are required. This position will require a Level 2 criminal background check.
Work Relationship:
The primary function of this position is to provide administrative and customer assistance to individuals participating in the Welfare Transition Program. The Assistant serves as an initial point of contact for customers referred to or identified for WT services and assists with engagement, WT orientation, Employ Florida registration, appointment scheduling, and coordination of required program activities. The position assists the Case Manager in maintaining timely and effective communication with customers. The position works under the direct supervision of the
Welfare Transition and SNAP Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist WT Case Manager Assist WT Case Manager in providing services to eligible WT individuals that will assist customers in becoming self-sufficient, i.e., services include job search, job preparation, job placement, education and training, career guidance, childcare referrals, transportation assistance and other community referrals. Assist WT Case Manager with planning, scheduling, and conducting Welfare Transition orientations and appointments. Assist WT Case Manager with explaining WT program expectations, participation requirements, available services, employment and training opportunities, and customer responsibilities. Assist customers with completing required orientation forms and documentation. Assist WT Case Manager with tracking orientation attendance and follow up with customers who miss scheduled orientations. Receive notifications or referrals of individuals requiring Welfare Transition services from WT Case Manager and initiate timely outreach to engage the customer. Contact and follow-up with customers by telephone, email, text, or other approved communication methods to explain available services and encourage participation or who do not respond to initial contact. Refer questions or case-specific issues requiring eligibility, assessment, or case-management decisions to the Welfare Transition Case Manager. Assist WT Case manager with daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports as requested. Assist WT customers with Employ Florida registration and required employment-service activities as needed. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable Welfare Transition, workforce, state, and local policies and procedures. Adhere to direction given regarding separation of duties for purposes of internal controls.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently required to spend long hours sitting at a workstation and using office equipment.
  • May be required to walk or stand for brief periods
  • May be required to use stairs when elevator is not available
  • May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move up to 25 pounds of office supplies and materials
  • May be required to reach with arms and hands and to stoop, kneel or crouch
