Job Description

About Us:
The Open Door Center (ODC) is dedicated to providing high-quality support, care, and opportunities for individuals in our residential and day service programs. Our mission is to empower individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling, independent, and community-focused lives.
Job Summary:
ODC is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to help support our residential and day service participants. DSPs work closely with individuals to promote independence, personal growth, and community engagement while ensuring safety and well-being. This role requires a hands-on, flexible approach and a strong commitment to person-centered support.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to individuals in residential and day programs, promoting independence and self-advocacy. Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities. Implement individualized support plans in collaboration with participants, families, and the team. Document services and report changes in participant needs effectively. Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment. Support community integration and active participation in social, educational, and vocational activities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in human services or related fields is a plus. Compassion, empathy, and strong communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts. Prior experience in developmental or residential services preferred but not required. Must pass background checks and meet state-mandated requirements for DSPs.

Salary:
